5 going on 15!

I love her to death but sometimes I want to sell her to the gypsys, heck, lately I'd just give her to them! The last couple weeks you would think a teenage girl lived at our house instead of a sweet 5 year old. There have been mood swings, crying, slammed doors, rolled eyes, dirty looks, and many claims of, "Hey, that's not fair!" She will only wear what she wants - which means no pants that have any kind of buttons or zippers, no tights, and nothing blue. Then she has to change clothes several different times until she finds the outfit that feels just right, all while throwing the rest of the clothes all over her room. Then we have to find the right shoes, and just the right pair of socks that don't have any bumps on them when you put them on, this usually requires trying on at least 2 different pairs of socks. The bumps don't seem to make their appearance until after the shoes are on and tied (must be tied just right so the loops aren't too long and don't touch the floor and must be double knotted) and you are on the way out the door, then suddenly they become so painful they cause you to fall on the ground crying and kicking your feet until they can be smoothed out or better yet, new unbumpy socks are put on. Her hair must be styled to her liking, including what kind of bow or flower she wants to wear or she will take it out, claiming you didn't do it right. Last week we got to school, only to have her refusing to get out of the car because she didn't like what she was wearing, even though she picked it out. She claims she doesn't need to go to school anymore because she already knows EVERYTHING! She wants to call her friends on the phone just to see what they are doing and say hi. She thinks it's a complete injustice that she has to go to bed earlier than everyone else, especially Cassidy! She can argue with the best of them and doesn't give up without a fight. She can be so excited and happy then do a complete 180 and be in tears and ticked at the world in a matter of seconds for no apparent reason. Guess I should be happy she is learning to stand up for herself and isn't going to be a pushover. She is definitely a strong girl who knows what she wants and is determined to get it. Good thing she is so cute!

Pinewood Derby

Cade and Carter decided to have a football theme for their cars. Carter's represent the New England Patriots. Cade's honors his favorite player, Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings. Cade's car was a little heavy and while a hole was being drilled into the bottom of his car, the bit caught the weight and blew it out the back of the car. With some glue and duct tape, the back of the car and one wheel was re-attached just in time for the race.

Carter and Cade can hardly control their emotions as they show off their 1st place trophies.

Group picture of the top 3 in each division.

Blessing Day

Cassidy was blessed by her dad in church on Sunday. We are thankful for all the family that was able to attend. Chris says she smiled through the whole blessing. What a sweetie.

2 months old

Cassidy weighed in at 9 pounds 10 ounces and 22 inches long on Tuesday. She continues to be a great, easy going baby. She has the best little smile and loves to be cuddled and held. I just can't get enough of this sweet little girl!

Vegas Vacation

We spent the last week in Las Vegas and California. It was so nice to have sunshine and warm weather! I really didn't take many pictures while we were there but here are a few highlights of our trip.

Visiting my Grandpa Allison in California and letting him meet Cassidy for the first time.

Disneyland - a horrible family picture but proof for Cassidy that she went to Disneyland.

Cami and Cassidy on their favorite ride - Small World

Chris and the kids on the Teacups

Cassidy chilling out in the stroller. She did great at Disneyland - slept through most of the trip.

I also got to meet our newest nephew - Nathan Edmund McKeehan born on Jan. 6th. He is adorable. We can't wait to go back to Vegas again so the kids can meet him (he was still in the hospital when we left). Cade also got contacts during our trip and can't believe how the world looks when you can actually see! We had a great time visiting with friends and having fun with our family. Now we are back to the everyday routine. Carter started playing in an indoor soccer league today. They got creamed in their first game 13-1. Hopefully they do better next week. Both boys are still doing wrestling and Cami is still doing gymnastics and hip hop. She is dying to learn to play the piano and I have been promising to teach her but just haven't had a chance. But her nagging has been successful and we will be starting that next week also. Busy busy - seems to be our family theme!

Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year. This was the first time in about 8 years we have spent Christmas in Washington. Unfortunately there was no snow. But we did get to take part in all Cox parties and have a great time with family.
Santa brought Cassidy a swing which she is loving!

The boys got paintball guns and everything that goes with it: masks, CO2 tanks, paintballs, targets, etc.

Cami got a Nintendo DS.

And the family got a Wii.

This is what we've been up to sense then :

Gymnastics

Cami has been doing gymnastics the last few months and loves it! A few weeks ago they had a gymnastics meet in the Moses Lake gym. Her age group performed on: floor exercise, bar, vault, and beam. They had judges who marked off different skill elements during each event. Cami's favorite is the balance beam.

Doing a cartwheel

After all the events each girl got a ribbon and certificate and got to stand on the award podium
