3 weeks old

Cassidy will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. She weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz. today and was 19.5 inches long. She is finally gaining weight steadily - about an ounce a day. She has to remain on her high calorie diet until she is 8 pounds, probably about another month or so. She is a great sleeper and loves to be held. So far she isn't a binky baby, she will occasionally take the big ugly kind from the hospital (which I found in pink) but really doesn't seem interested. She is pretty content and mellow and I am so grateful for that! The other kids have adjusted well to their new sister and love her so much. Cami is constantly making up songs for her, talking to her and trying to hold and play with her. We are so thankful she is healthy and growing and is a part of our family!

7 days old

Our lives were changed forever 7 days ago when baby Cassidy was born. I can't believe she is already a week old. It's been a very fast week. We are so in love with this sweet little girl and so glad she is part of our family. She truly is a blessing. We couldn't have asked for a better baby. Her temperament is the complete opposite of the rest of our kids as babies. She is incredibly mellow and laid back, hardly ever crying more than a little squawk. She loves to be held and will sleep in your arms all day. Cassidy weighed in at 5 pounds 15 ounces yesterday at the doctors office. She has some problems sucking and won't nurse because of it. We are having to teach her how to suck correctly. This has been a frustrating and time consuming process. As my brother says, it's the one time in your kids life you WANT them to suck! Our doctor was great and gave me some different techniques to try with her that will hopefully get her nursing and gaining more weight. My mom has been here all week and has been wonderful shuttling the kids back and forth to school, sports and activities, cooking and cleaning and letting me just rest and cuddle this little peanut. Cami wants grandma to stay forever! Here are some new pictures of our sweet girl.

baby love

We are all in love with baby Cassidy. She is such a sweet heart. The kids just adore her. So far she spends the days sleeping, waking up every few hours to eat then going right back to sleep.

Sisters in matching jammies

One of the few pictures with her eyes open. So far her eyes are blue. Hopefully they stay that way. Her hair is a dirty blonde color, the same as Cade's when he was a baby. She has the cutest little chin with a dimple in the middle.

She loves to scrunch up her forehead and looks like a little old man when she does.

This afternoon Cami fell asleep holding Cassie. They were all snuggled up on the couch napping together. So sweet!

Fall

It is officially fall here in Washington. The kids have never really experienced fall before and have had a great time playing in the leaves. The weather is getting colder, but we aren't freezing yet. We are taking advantage of the last of the nice days and playing outside alot. The kids raked leaves at Grandma Cox's house and had a blast jumping in the piles. Cami was so excited about raking she is asking for her own rake!

I couldn't resist taking some pictures of the kids in the park with all the falling leaves and changing colors.
