Carter - 2nd gradeToday was the 1st day of school. I took the boys to school this morning, much to Cade's dismay. He jumped out of the car as soon as we pulled up to his school without much more than a quick bye! Carter let me walk him out to the playground at his school. They both had a great day and liked their teachers and made new friends. Carter even survived taking his lunch to school. Cade lost his schedule part way through the day but luckily had it memorized already so he was fine. They took the bus home and vowed they didn't want to do that again. I guess they were the last kids dropped off and there is no air on the bus and they were very tired and hot by the time they got home (almost an hour after school got out.) But they are going to try riding in the morning and see how it goes. Definitely a successful day and they are excited to go back tomorrow. We celebrated back to school by cooking smores in our fire pit out back.

Awesome! Tell them as the weather cools off the bus won't be so hot. Wonder if it has heat?? Probably slower on the first day too. I'm so impressed Cade had his schedule memorized already, that is amazing! They both look so grown up in these pictures! Tell Cade I said, next step, contacts!!!
Glad that they had a good 1st day! I hope to see y'all on Saturday!
Ahhh... I love that I have a 5th grade nephew! So fun!
I remember when we moved to Moses Lake while the kids were little & I took them to school their first day/they were scared & it was new-then I went home and cried and worried all day about them- when I went to pick them up they didn't want to go with me, they wanted to ride the bus home! I worried all day for nothing! Kids are so resiliant. Thank goodness!

I rode the bus for almost 12 years. We didn't have air back then either. ;) They will not melt. Hope it gets better for them today. Your a good mom. I love smores.
Welcome to WA Erin! Your home looks great, all that yard! Much different than Vegas too. I'm glad the kids like it. Maybe if you venture to Moses instead of Wenatchee, I'll see you someday. (I'd rather head that way myself though, I miss Target!) Good luck getting everything settled.
