It's been a busy few weeks trying to finish up the school year and various other activities! The kids have been busy earning lots of awards. Carter got Student of the Month for May. The character trait was self-control. We thought that was a little ironic since he doesn't seem to exhibit that trait much at home but apparently he is capable of it. Cami and Carter also earned their Junior Jogger tee-shirts. Cami ran approx 40 miles this year and Carter ran approx. 60 miles. Cade tied the school record for pull-ups at 18 pull ups. In Cub Scouts Carter earned his Bear award, numerous belt loops, his religious knot, and 7 arrow points. Cade earned his 2nd class and 1st class ranks in Scouts. All three kids earned free tickets to the Silverwood theme park for reading. Carter was picked to play on the 9 yr old All-Star baseball team. Cami is very proud of the fact that her front teeth are finally growing in! The one she knocked out as a toddler is just starting to come through but the other one is almost halfway in. She's still waiting for a couple bottom teeth to grow in so for now she looks like a jack-o-lantern.
Today was the last day of school. I think I'm the only parent who cried about the last day of kindergarten. Cami has had a great school year with awesome teachers. She gave her teachers a children's book called If I Could Keep You Little. When I bought it the other day I didn't really read through it since Cassidy was trying to destroy the store at the time. I just thought it looked cute so I grabbed it and left. This morning as I was wrapping it up I read it and got all emotional that school was ending. The book is about a mom talking to her child wishing she could keep them little but thinking about the things they would miss out on by not growing up. The last part of the book says If I could keep you little I'd keep you close to me but then I would miss you growing up into who you're meant to be. Cami has really grown up this year and gotten so much more mature (if that's possible). I have been telling her I don't want her to get bigger so I'm going to keep her in kindergarten forever. But she passed with flying colors so I guess I have to let her go on to 1st grade.
We have a busy fun summer planned with trips to Shasta, Las Vegas, Silverwood, camping, swim team, baseball tournaments, swim lessons, riding lessons, and lots of playing with friends.

Congratulations Cade, Carter and Cami, those are awesome accomplishments, we are so proud of you guys!!! I love Cami's teeth, that picture reminds me of the "before" ones the orthodontist took of Erin! I'm gong to have to find that book, it made me cry, just reading about it. Happy summer vacation!!
