Carter's class learned about the 50 states the last month of school. They did an assembly for the lower school where they each said an unusual fact about a state and then each class sang a patriotic song. (Carter is in a white shirt 3rd one in from the end.) Carter's state was Maryland. Did you know Babe Ruth, the Sultan of Swat, was born in Baltimore and attended St. Mary's Industrial School? Then all the 1st graders sang "50 Nifty."
